  1. It's been some months since the 2.3.1. release, but finally here's a 2.3.2. 
  2. I am sorry for the delay. It started off because I moved from NZ to California
  3. for a new job with Apple and continued through things like my falling very 
  4. sick, having to move to a new apartment, having to fight a new compiler
  5. (SC++8) etc etc. However 2.3.2 should fix the bugs I know of in 2.3.1.
  6. I would particularly like to apologize to people who have sent me email.
  7. I simply have not looked at my email for about ten weeks. very soon my life
  8. should be in control again, enough so that I can start to work through all
  9. the mail I have and deal with it.

  16. !!! If you write to me PLEASE give me a decent address I can reply to.
  17. !!!    About 10% of the e-mail I receive has a bogus return address---I try 
  18. !!!    to reply to you and a few hours or days later I get a message from the 
  19. !!!    mail system that my mail could not be delivered.
  20. !!!    This is very frustrating to me and a waste of your and my time. 
  21. !!!    I have NEVER just ignored mail sent to me about Sparkle. If I don't 
  22. !!!    reply to you, it's because you sent me mail with a garbage return address.
  23. !!!    Check out your mail system and write to me again when it works properly.

  27. Ñ This software is free. 
  28. Ñ The README 2nd file contains a number of details about the program. 
  29.     Please look there for an answer before sending me a question. Its silly 
  30.     for you to have to wait a few days and for me to have to waste time 
  31.     answering when the answer is already there.
  32. Ñ If you have a bug report, or think I really need to add a feature, 
  33.     please mail me. In the past various people have complained about bugs 
  34.     with posts to Usenet groups or electronic magazines. This may make you 
  35.     feel better, but it won't fixing the problem. Mailing me with the problem 
  36.     may well get it fixed in a day or two.
  37. Ñ The details of encoding MPEGs are not obvious if you don't understand 
  38.     how MPEGs work. For now, I have a complex dialog box you must fill in. 
  39.     If you don't understand it, use the defaults it suggests, or read the 
  40.     relevant section in the README 2nd file.
  41. Ñ If you don't like the quality of the MPEG display, go to the 
  42.     Preferences menu under the Edit menu and change the settings. To see 
  43.     what the various settings do, look in the README 2nd file.
